Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind announces compensation of Rs. 2 crores to the child injured in Sandhya Theatre stampede

 The boy's 35-year-old mother lost her life in the stampede during the premiere of the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule.

              Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind has announced that a sum of Rs. 2 crores will be paid as compensation to the eight-year-old boy Sri Tej who was injured in a stampede outside Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4. The incident also took the life of Sri Tej’s 35-year-old mother. Out of the total amount, Rs. 1 crore will be paid by Allu Arjun and the remaining Rs. 1 crore by the film’s producers Mythri Movie Makers and director Sukumar, who is also the co-producer.

Allu Aravind told a group of reporters in Hyderabad, “To support the family and the boy after he comes out of hospital, we thought we should support them with the amount of Rs 2 crores... to be handed over Dil Raju (the Chairperson of the Telangana Film Development Corporation). We are thankful (to Dil Raju) for being an intermediary between the family and ourselves.”

On December 13, Allu Arjun, who was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder for the said incident, was arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. However, he was released on bail hours later. The actor and director Sukumar had earlier donated Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh to the victims’ family respectively.
